Electromagnetics Across the Spectrum

We model and optimize electromagnetic systems spanning static fields to microwave and millimeter-wave frequencies. Using COMSOL Multiphysics with the RF and AC/DC Modules, we simulate full-wave propagation, quasi-static effects, and coupled multiphysics to deliver accurate, fabrication-ready designs.

GHz Range: High-Q Microwave and Antennas

High-Q Microwave Resonators: Design of plasma chambers, applicators, and microwave ovens where cavity modes, coupling apertures, and standing waves control power deposition. We resolve dielectric losses and thermal loading, coupling EM fields to bioheat or solid heat transfer when needed.
Antenna Design (915 MHz to 30 GHz): End-to-end workflow including impedance matching, gain, radiation patterns, and array beamforming. Parametric sweeps and gradient-free optimization are used to meet bandwidth and efficiency targets.

MHz Range: Inductive Power and Plasma Systems

Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP): Coil and matching-network design for deposition and etch tools. We capture skin effects, eddy currents, and coil–plasma coupling with appropriate material models.
Energy Delivery for Medical Devices: Optimization of field penetration and heating for therapeutic systems with coupled EM–thermal modeling.
Mass Spectrometers: Ion-path electrodes and RF components modeled for stability and transmission.

kHz Range: Wireless Power and Transduction

Wireless Power Transfer (WPT): Coil geometry, magnetic coupling factor, and misalignment sensitivity studied with frequency-domain and transient models. We extract equivalent circuits and system efficiencies.
Acoustic Transducers and Receivers: Piezoelectric transduction chains where EM drive is coupled to structural and acoustic domains.

Hz Range: Motors and Industrial Systems

Motors and Actuators: Torque, cogging, and efficiency analysis with rotor/stator geometry sweeps and control-cycle coupling.
Resistance Welding and Induction Heating: Joule heating and current paths modeled with temperature-dependent material properties and contact resistances.

Statics: Electrostatics and Magnetostatics

Electrostatics: Field shaping, sensors, insulation coordination, and breakdown risk using \(\nabla\cdot(\epsilon \nabla V)= -\rho\).
Magnetostatics: Permanent-magnet assemblies, magnetic shielding, and force optimization using \(\nabla\times\mathbf{H}=\mathbf{J}\), \(\mathbf{B}=\mu\mathbf{H}\).
